Coming home in P20, Dominique Aegerter finished the last race before the summer break below his expectations.
Dominique Aegerter struggled in vain at the Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland to repeat a performance similar to that of one week ago at Assen. However, the changeable weather on race day did not play into his cards. After the warm-up in the morning, which took place on a half-wet, half-dry track, the 28-year-old Swiss could not recover his otherwise good feeling for his bike during the race.
#77 Dominique AEGERTER (MV Agusta Idealavoro Forward, MV Agusta F2), P20:
"I'm sorry, because we went into this race with higher expectations. Especially after we’re able to perform strongly one week ago at Assen. But today, something went wrong. I don't want to blame it on the bike, as foremost I think it was the changed weather conditions compared to the last days. This morning the track started to dry during warm-up but till the race it was completely dry. Despite the sunshine, however, the track conditions were not optimal. I could never find the same feeling I had during practice sessions. Therefore, I would like to apologise to my team and all sponsors for this result. We have to take advantage from the summer break to develop our bike forward as well as I myself will train hard on and off the track, plus I’ll participate in the Suzuka eight-hour race again this year. In between I allow myself a few days off. But after the long summer break I will return all the more motivated. But we have to continue working hard to achieve the goals we set ourselves."
