2019/11/17 - Moto2™ World Championship 2019: GP de la Valenciana / Race Report

#ValenciaGP: Conciliatory conclusion of what wasn’t an easy season

At the season’s finale in Valencia, Dominique Aegerter brought home his MV Agusta in the points once again.

Dominique Aegerter’s farewell to Moto2™ World Championship and his Forward Racing Team came after a hard-fought twelfth place in Sunday round 19 of the season. The 29-year-old from Rohrbach in the Swiss canton of Bern showed thereby a strong achievement and did not shrink from direct duels with its opponents. 2019 was the entry year of MV Agusta in the intermediate Grand Prix class. The iconic Italian brand returned to the World Championship after 42 years. Over the course of the season Aegerter contributed a lot to further development the still young project. Next year he’ll move to the recently created MotoE™ World Cup.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (MV Agusta Temporary Forward, MV Agusta F2), P12:

"Today we started from 19th spot on the starting grid and finished in twelfth place. Our goal was to collect points again, as well as to deliver a strong performance during the race at all. I think that we completed both tasks successfully by the way. It was a very emotional weekend for me. It's not easy for me to say goodbye to the Moto2 class. Besides of that, after a year of good cooperation it's always hard to say goodbye to the team too. However, we part ways happy because we've achieved the best possible result today. I’ very proud to have been part of this project with MV Agusta. It is nice to see that we have made progress. So, it's a bit of a shame that I won't be able to continue here next year. Nevertheless, I would like to thank everyone involved at MV Agusta, CRC and the Forward Team for the good cooperation. My thanks also is going to all sponsors and partners for their trust in the riders and the whole team. I wish Forward Racing and MV Agusta all the best for the future, Arreviderci. Finally, I would like to congratulate Alex Marquez for winning the world championship. He had a strong season and therefore he deserves the title."
