2018/09/22 - GP Aragón / QP Report

On Saturday afternoon, Dominique Aegerter suffered a big setback though, the ambitious team still hopes to recover greatly from 30th spot on the starting grid during Sunday’s round 14 at the impressive MotorLand Aragón circuit.

As assumed, conditions were hot at the time of qualifying on Saturday afternoon which means that the time attack for the best starting position was for riders and machines an ordeal. Going into the all-important session, Dominique Aegerter was still confident after slightly improved his lap time during this morning’s FP3. But for still unexplained cause, he did not find a fast and flowing rhythm during qualifying.

Starting time is as usual on Sunday at 12:20 pm CET.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing), Grid position 30th - 1´55.112 (4/17):

"Honestly, I don’t know what to say. I’m just hugely disappointed. We tried both tyre compound during the qualifying, but we didn’t find the extra grip to start a more toward the front at least. Now we have to look at it carefully as well as I try to figure out what I did wrong. I just have to do better tomorrow in order to have a shot for points finally. Therefore, warm-up will be crucial in order to find improvements. But the race will be a long battle in which a lot can happen."
