#DA77: "Getting more competitive soon"

The ambitious racer from the Swiss canton of Bern is hoping for the first points with MV Agusta in their first race together.

After slightly progress during Friday’s free practice sessions, Dominique Aegerter initially had to adapt to changed conditions at day two at the season’s kick-off event in Qatar. It took a while, of course, to get the right feeling for the strong winds and significantly cooler temperatures during day time. In addition, the new qualifying format with the two short time attack heats Q1 and Q2 required a certain amount of adjustment. Aegerter finally qualified for row eight of the starting grid. Nevertheless, he looks forward to his debut race with the world-famous Italian motorcycle brand MV Agusta.

The 2019 World Championship kicks off on Sunday 6:20pm local time at the sunset in the desert. Time difference with Central Europe is two hours.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (MV Agusta Idealavoro Forward, MV Agusta F2), Grid position 24th - 2´00.518 (4/8):

"During FP3 this afternoon, in daylight conditions also, we had some effort to advance initially. But at the end we were able to improve a bit. During qualifying, though, we missed something to set a similar lap time than done last night. So, our starting position is a bit disappointing because I would like to start further up the front of course, as well as to end up with a smaller gap to the front guys. But the race is tomorrow, and I’m sure that we will find something about the settings and therefore we will improve our speed. This will it make easier for us in the race. After a hopefully good start, it is time to be able tto keep up in a fast group. But I’m always looking forward to the first race of the new season and at the same time to bring MV Agusta back into the starting grid. I’m even a bit proud of that. Apart from that, we will see what will happen tomorrow though, I think that we’re on a good path to becoming more competitive soon. Maybe we can take a few points from this race which would certainly be a milestone for our still young project."
