2019/10/03 - Moto2™ WM 2019: Thailand GP / Preview

#ThaiGP: Less pressure at the oversea races

Despite the scorching heat of Thailand, Dominique Aegerter is confidently looking forward to this race at one of his favourite tracks.

The technicians of Swiss Moto2™ rider Dominik Aegerter arrived with heavy luggage at Buriram in the interior of the South-eastern Asian state. New development parts for the MV Agusta F2 were manufactured in the workshop until departure for Thailand. After the disappointing races recently, Aegerter hopes for an uphill trend at the start of the annual Asia/Australia tour of the series.

For the spectators in Central Europe, however, the upcoming for race weekends will be a tough time for them because of the time differences to Asia and Australia means that they always have to get up very early. This Sunday, the Moto2 race starts at 7:20am CET.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (MV Agusta Temporary Forward, MV Agusta F2):

"At Buriram, a very hot weekend awaits us, this is for sure. The conditions there are brutally exhausting though, there could also some thunderstorms appear the next days. Hopefully they will not influence the schedule of the events too much. On the other hand, this grand prix should be a bit more calm for us because at the last race we always had a lot of guests in our garage. So, we were always under great observation. That led to a little more pressure than normal. Our technicians worked day and night during the break after Aragón. There are new parts again that we will try out this weekend. Hopefully they will prove their worth right away so that we can make some progress again. The last races didn't bring what I expected. Nevertheless, I'm happy about this race. I really like the Buriram track. That's why I'm very confident. But it's important to work concentrated with the team. That's why it's good that we have a bit more peace and quiet in the pits again. Therefore,we can focus more on our actual job again."
