2019/10/06 - Moto2™ WM 2019: Thailand GP / Race Report

#ThaiGP: Top 15 narrowly missed in Buriram’s heat battle

Dominique Aegerter finished Sunday’s race in Thailand in P16 just outside the points.

In contrast to the last races, Dominique Aegerter and his team had a few rays of hope at Buriram, even though their expectations in the form of scoring points were once again dashed. But there was a continuous uphill trend to see. The 29-year-old Swiss Moto2™ pilot therefore confidently takes a short break before the championship continues in Japan in two weeks' time.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (MV Agusta Temporary Forward, MV Agusta F2), P16:

"Today we just missed our goal of scoring points again, but I think we had a good weekend here at Buriram at all. Of course, the first practice session stands out in particular of all. In addition, our gap to the front runners was always very small. There were also new parts to test again. Some of it is for the future, while other things should help us to move forward quickly. Today's race was physically very exhausting. The heat was unbearable. But that was the same for everyone. Nevertheless, I fought hard in every lap and every corner to finish this race in the top 15. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough. But at the next three overseas races we’ve to to be closer to the top 15 at any time and on Sunday we’ve to race well inside of it. Our overall package is constantly getting a little better. That's certainly very positive and we'll give everything for that. Thanks to the team for keeping up with these conditions until the end. After this ordeal I'm looking forward to a short break before we go to Motegi."
