After his debut win in Supersport World Championship a week and a half ago in Estoril, Dominique Aegerter is eager to repeat this feat at the very next opportunity.

For the experienced Dominique Aegerter, May and June are the most strenuous months this year. Practically every week, he switches from the production-based 600cc Supersport race bike to the electric bike of the FIM MotoE™ World Cup. Last Sunday, the Rohrbach born rider was pleased with a clean second place in the MotoE race in Barcelona. This result was enormously important regarding the overall Cup standings.

Immediately afterwards, Aegerter attended the final farewell of his racing colleague Jason Dupasquier, who passed away after an accident ten days ago, in the western part of Switzerland. From there, he made his way to Misano, the third stop of the FIM Supersport World Championship this weekend. Aegerter arrives in Italy in second place overall, just six points behind current leader Steven Odendaal from South Africa.

"On Tuesday, I attended the funeral of Jason Dupasquier. It was a very moving moment for me when I stood at the open grave to say, "Goodbye Jason". I will never forget him, and he always will be in my heart, especially when I am racing. This sad date was practically right after my return from Barcelona. Since the beginning of May I have been on the road a lot at all. In the meantime, I have four consecutive race weekends under my belts, starting in Le Mans, Aragón, Estoril, and Barcelona. Nevertheless, I am happy that this series continues straight on with the next event, and I also hardly can wait to get back on the Yamaha R6. As always, I am top motivated and feel ready for the upcoming task in Misano. I am also looking forward to seeing the Ten Kate Racing family again. I feel I am in very good hands with them. In addition, the switch to the Supersport bike is always welcome, foremost because of the shifting, the engine noise and the smell of gasoline."

"In Misano, however, we have a much tougher task ahead of us. Many riders have been practicing there a lot in the winter and some of them also have participated at the races for the Italian championship in Misano as a preparation. So, they have not only collected a lot of kilometres, but also a lot of helpful data, while we, on the other hand, absolutely have nothing from Misano. But I know the track from my time in the 125cc World Championship, with the Moto2 and meanwhile already with the MotoE bike too. I like Misano. And not just the circuit, but also the surrounding area with San Marino and the many resorts along the nearby Adriatic coast. I also think it is very nice that about 5,000 fans per day are allowed to come to watch and cheer us on. So, I am looking forward to many different things this weekend. This includes the mostly good weather, a few hours at the beach, as well as for the one or the other fine pizza."
