2021/07/20 - FIM Supersport World Championship: Dutch Round / Preview

To shine in a bright yellow at Dutch round

For Dominique Aegerter, his summer break comes to an end this weekend at the traditional TT circuit of Assen in the north of the Netherlands.

After four weeks, Dominique Aegerter returns to the venue where he squandered a possible MotoE™ podium with a crash at the end of the first lap on last Sunday in June. But that has been history since long. The 30-year-old experienced rider from Rohrbach has used the long race-free period to prepare himself optimally for the tasks ahead.

Aegerter is looking forward to the fourth meeting of this year’s FIM Supersport World Championship season with euphoria for a special reason as Assen is the home race of his Dutch Ten Kate team. A perfect occasion, therefore, to take the spotlight with a standout outfit.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha, Yamaha YZF R6):

"With the upcoming Supersport meeting in Assen my summer break ends. So, I went on vacation with the unfortunate MotoE race in Assen at the end of last month and now I am coming back from holidays on the same track. However, the past four weeks have not been all leisure. Last week we tested first in Most and immediately afterwards in Magny-Cours. The main thing for both occasions was to get to know the track as Most is new to the calendar and for Magny-Cours I did not know until then either. So, it was important to gather data for the races there. Of course, we also tried out a few things on the bike."

"We were once at Assen earlier this year for pretty much the same reason. But now, I am looking forward to the home race of my Ten Kate team - their workshop is only 20 minutes away from the circuit. Moreover, this weekend will be a special experience again, as not only more fans are allowed to come, but the teams can also invite some sponsors and guests. Finally, there will be some atmosphere in the paddock again. In addition, we have come up with something special for this round of the World Championship, as we will be showing a special outfit. I am particularly looking forward to that, as my favourite colour plays a big role. One idea was the starting number, because it has to be in blue in Supersport World Championship and my "77" has been in bright yellow on every racing machine so far. Yellow also has a long tradition at Ten Kate. So Assen will definitely be a cool weekend and I'm ready to make the most of it."
