Reigning Supersport champion Dominique Aegerter and his crew are making slow progress with their preparations for the season.

On Wednesday, Dominique Aegerter and his Dutch Ten Kate team finished the test much earlier starting to pack up things after just eight laps done. Rainy weather on the second and final day in Estoril once again thwarted all plans to the test schedule. In cold and wet conditions, the 30-year-old Yamaha rider also felt slight after-effects from his crash on Tuesday.

After two weather-related mixed tests, Aegerter and Ten Kate will now make a new attempt to make progress with the test program with another two-day testing earlier next week in Assen.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha, Yamaha YZF R6):

"It is a pity because this test did not bring any big insights either. The past two days were similar to Aragón. In the first hour on Tuesday morning, it was dry. The track conditions were good, and I immediately found my speed. The lap time was already very fast, just two or three tenths above my Superpole last year. That was certainly very pleasing. But then came the rain. In the wet I unfortunately crashed after a few laps where I bruised my shoulder and back a bit. The bruise in this area is still hurting. Apart from that, the weather did not cooperate today either. We only did one exit with eight laps. Actually, it was just to get the feeling back in the wet."

"The conditions were half-half all day. Therefore, there is not much to say. Once again, nothing could be tested or tried out. The positive thing is that we are already on a good path in terms of the setting. That is shown by the fact that we are fast right away when we get to a track. That is really the only good thing that came out of this test. On Thursday I fly to Barcelona and from there I will drive back to Switzerland with my van. I know that this can be quite exhausting for my slightly ailing body. Nevertheless, I hope that I recover quickly, because on Sunday I am already off to Assen, where the next test with Ten Kate is planned for Monday and Tuesday. Most of all, though, I am hoping for good weather so that we can finally get some proper riding in the dry."
