By putting in 84 laps on the first day of testing in Misano, Dominique Aegerter was one of the busiest on the track. His conclusion was correspondingly satisfied.

Despite a slightly late start to the two-day test at the Misano World Circuit, Thursday was an extremely productive day for Dominique Aegerter and his technical crew from the Italian GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team, which lasted until the last minute. After a lot of work in various areas, the 32-year-old WorldSBK rookie set his fastest lap of the day in 1'34.807 to finish 14th.

"Despite the bad weather forecast for these days, we had a pretty good day today. In the morning it was still quite fresh, but it got warmer with every hour, so we were able to work reasonably at almost 40 degrees asphalt temperature until 05:00pm. Apart from that, it was a hectic day from our point of view, because we were working with both bikes. There was a lot to try out and compare. From small setup changes and the geometry, engine braking and power delivery, everything was on the agenda for further development. Our pace was pretty good, but we still need to improve because this track is very different from Barcelona in terms of grip level. We need to use that better in our favour."

"But the gaps from fourth place onwards are very close. Lap times at testing are always to be taken with a bit of caution, though, because it is not entirely clear when who will be on which tyres. Hopefully the track conditions will be similarly good again tomorrow so we can pick up where we left off today. We made some progress today, which I'm very happy about. I'm also very happy with how the team is working. With two bikes in the garage, they have a lot of work to change every time. But also, for me it is a challenge every time to adapt my riding style to the current bike. I am looking forward to tomorrow."
