#ThaiGP: After super speedy start on Friday, points in the reach

After a strong start into the weekend Dominique Aegerter expects a countable result on Sunday in Thailand.

Finishing Friday’s FP1 in fourth place, Dominique Aegerter gave a strong sign of life since a while. This performance also underlines the potential of the still young project with MV Agusta. However, a significant improvement in his qualifying lap time was not enough to start further ahead than from the eighth row. The changeable weather in Buriram on Saturday also played a role.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (MV Agusta Temporary Forward, MV Agusta F2), Grid position 22nd - 1´36.249 (2/7):

"The weekend has started very well. On Friday we had a very strong first training. That was by far the best FP1 this year. In the second session we tried some new things that should help us to move forward with this project. In much hotter conditions we could repeat our lap time from this morning which, obviously, is positive and speaks for the potential of MV Agusta either. Day two of practice started a little more laboriously. While we managed a good improvement in terms of lap times in the afternoon at first, unfortunately, a few raindrops at the end of Q1 had negative effect to our tactics. The feeling was much better than in FP3 and yesterday afternoon. From this point of view, I still hope that we’ll be able to score points from 22nd spot on the starting grid. We started well, we improved well and the whole field is very close together. So, a lot should be possible, even though the race will be extremely exhausting in this heat though, I don't think so that we fail during the race because of physical conditions issues, nor we do have enough experience for such conditions. It's finally time to get another countable result."
