The 35-year-old Swiss professional motorcycle racer will return to the FIM Supersport World Championship in 2026 with the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team, competing aboard a podium-capable Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636.

Dominique Aegerter is already a legend in the WorldSSP paddock, having won the world championship twice in this class before embarking a three-year career in Superbike World Championship. Aegerter secured a total of 27 race wins from 44 starts in World Supersport, winning the title in consecutive seasons from 2021 to 2022.

In addition to his successes in FIM Supersport World Championship, he was crowned MotoE World Champion in the MotoGP paddock back in 2022 and achieved two podium finishes in his first WorldSBK season. His versatility is such that he has also achieved podium finishes in World Endurance Championship. He has stood on the podium a total of three times at the famous Suzuka 8 Hours race.

Aegerter was born in Rohrbach, Switzerland, in 1990 and began his career at the age of just 14 in 125cc class in International German Motorcycle Championship. In 2006, he moved up to Grand Prix racing in the 125cc class and switched to the then-new Moto2 category in 2010. In 2014, he celebrated a Grand Prix victory at the Sachsenring and secured a further six Moto2 podium finishes.

In 2021, he made his full-time debut in production-based racing. Aegerter was a sensation right from the start. He now enters the 2026 FIM Supersport World Championship, where the latest „Next Generation“ bikes are used, with even more experience than he gained in his two championship years. As teammate to Spaniard Jeremy Alcoba, who won the Rookie of the Year award with the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team this year, he will ride a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636. This motorcycle has already achieved two podium finishes in its first year at World Championship level.

The signing of Aegerter alongside Jeremy Alcoba not only doubles the size of the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team for 2026, but also creates a classic “hybrid” rider lineup with a talented young rookie who already has a proven track record of success and a seasoned champion embarking on an ambitious new adventure in a familiar racing landscape.
