Dominique Aegerter is eagerly awaiting his first appearance in green to get to know the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636, which is completely new to him.

This Wednesday and Thursday mark the start of a new chapter in Dominique Aegerter's successful career. However, his return to FIM Supersport World Championship also brings with it a certain amount of pressure for the 35-year-old Swiss rider, who celebrated his greatest successes to date by winning the title in both 2021 and 2022.

Aegerter's comeback in the middle category of the WorldSBK series will now take place at the well-known and popular Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain. For Aegerter, the focus of these two days will be on familiarizing himself with his new surroundings and mastering the switch to the Kawasaki Supersport machine.

«I am really looking forward to my first test with the Kawasaki ZX-6R 636 and the official Kawasaki WorldSSP team. It will also be my first contact with the entire Puccetti team, with whom I will be working in 2026. However, I initially see a part of the two days in Jerez as a shakedown for this project, firstly to get to know the people and how they work, and to readjust after the switch back to the Supersport category, and also to find the best possible riding position for me on the bike. I think these things will be quickly taken care of with the professional team, so that we can then start with initial setup works and adjust the balance of the bike to my needs in terms of riding. It will also be important to gather as many ideas as possible about what we need for the next test after the winter break in order to be competitive right from the start. But right now, I am just happy to be ready again to ride and to be returning to Supersport with new colours. I am confident about next year because it is nice to see that Kawasaki and the Puccetti team really want to bring this bike back to the top. For my part, meanwhile, I am highly motivated to help them with 100 percent commitment. But this test is not all I have on the agenda this week, because on Friday I am goint to Italy for the “100 km dei Campioni” at Valentino Rossi's ranch in Tavullia. It's always a great honour being invited for this event which is really great and fun. But first, I am focusing entirely on Wednesday and Thursday to get the 2026 season off to a successful start.»
