Despite limited opportunities, Dominique Aegerter was mostly satisfied with what he achieved after two days of testing at the Circuito de Jerez.

The weather over the last two days was in contrast to Dominique Aegerter's test debut with the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team at the same location at the end of November last year. On Wednesday morning, a rain front moved across the western part of Andalusia, and it wasn't long before the first drops began to fall. Conditions deteriorated dramatically throughout the day, with heavy rain showers at times.

However, Aegerter did not let this stop him from trying out his new race bike for the first time under such difficult conditions. In any case, he gained some positive impressions with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636, which is still relatively new to him.

After the rain stopped during the night, the weather improved on Thursday. Although the sun occasionally peeked through the clouds, the 4.4-kilometer track at the famous circuit in southern Spain never completely dried out. Another rain shower about two hours before the end of testing meant it was time to pack up early. The 35-year-old Swiss rider and his factory supported Kawasaki squad, headed by Italian Manuel Puccetti, made the most of the best conditions of the day. After 34 laps, he set his personal best time of 1:44.501, putting him just under 1.6 seconds behind the fastest Supersport rider of the day.

Next week, Aegerter and his Kawasaki WorldSSP team will return to the track for another two-day test in neighboring Portimao, Portugal. This will be their next opportunity to prepare for the 2026 FIM Supersport World Championship, which begins in Australia at the end of February.

«Our first test of the new year went well overall. It was wet on the first day, but that suited me fine as it gave me the opportunity to get to know the Kawasaki in rainy conditions. The laps in the wet were also a good functional test. Overall, what we achieved yesterday was fine. We had hoped for better weather today. Unfortunately, the conditions were not ideal all the time. Of the eight hours of track time, we were only able to use two hours productively. After the rain showers, the track never dried out completely and there were many wet spots. Nevertheless, my team did a great job, as all the points I suggested in November were changed. At the end of the test, however, we are still a little too far behind the others for my liking. But I must also say that we are still in a learning process, in which it is important to do a lot of laps to understand what we need for next time. But also, with regard to the first race weekend. So, we will continue like this, because I feel physically good on the bike. A big thank you to the whole team for their great work done during the winter break. They have achieved an incredible amount in such a short time. Hopefully we will have better luck with the weather next week in Portimao so that we can continue our preparations for the season without restrictions.»
